13.Contacto, reclamos y ley aplicable

1.About us
Eng Community is an online English conversation class service, operated as a sole trader business registered in Queensland, Australia, ABN 28 280 967 879. In these terms, “we” means Eng Community and “you” means the person who purchases the membership.
By paying for the membership you accept these terms. If you don't agree with any part of them, please don't purchase the service and contact us with any questions.
2.The service
The Conversation Membership includes:
- 12 live 50-minute classes per month (3 per week) on Google Meet, in a fixed group of up to 6 people.
- Prep material before each class, recordings and homework in Google Classroom.
- Classes 100% in English, designed for pre-intermediate level or above. They are not suitable for complete beginners.
The service is for people aged 18 and over. To take part you need a stable internet connection, a device with a microphone and a Google account.
3.Price and payment
- The price is AUD 169 per month, all charges included. There are no sign-up fees or hidden charges.
- Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.
- The launch price stays the same for as long as your membership remains active. If we change the price in the future, we will email you at least 30 days in advance, and you can cancel before the new price applies.
4.Automatic renewal
Your membership renews automatically every month, on the same date as your first payment, and is charged to the same card. Stripe emails you a receipt every time a payment is made.
If a payment fails (for example, because of an expired card or insufficient funds), Stripe will retry it over a few days and we will let you know so you can update your payment method. If the payment isn't resolved within 7 days, we may pause your access to classes and release your spot.
5.How to cancel
- You can cancel anytime using the “Manage your subscription” link on engcommunity.net, with the same email you paid with. You can also ask us by email at hello@engcommunity.net.
- To avoid being charged for the next month, cancel before your renewal date.
- When you cancel, you keep access to your classes and Google Classroom until the last day of the month you've already paid for.
- Your spot in the group is released for someone else. If you want to come back later, your time slot will depend on availability.
6.Refunds
Because you can cancel at any time, we don't give refunds for change of mind, for classes you didn't attend or for forgetting to cancel before your renewal date.
We will refund you, in full or in proportion to the classes left in the month, in these cases:
- If we cancel classes and don't make them up (see section 7).
- If we make a major change to the service that you don't accept, such as changing your group's time slot (see section 8).
- If you were charged by mistake, for example twice in the same month.
To request a refund, email us at hello@engcommunity.net. We reply within 3 business days, and approved refunds are processed by Stripe to the same card (they can take 5–10 business days to appear in your account).
Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the law: they must be provided with due care and skill and be fit for the purpose we offer. If a service has a major problem, you are entitled to cancel and receive a refund.
7.Classes and attendance
- Fixed time slot: your spot is for the group and time slot you chose. All times are Queensland time (AEST, no daylight saving).
- Missed classes: if you can't attend, you have the recording and materials in Google Classroom. Classes you miss are not made up or deducted from the price.
- Punctuality: classes start and finish at the scheduled time, even if you arrive late.
- Changing groups: you can ask at any time, and the change takes effect if there's a spot in the new group.
- Classes we cancel: if the teacher can't run a class, we will let you know as early as possible and make it up on another date. If we can't make it up, we will credit or refund the proportional value of that class.
8.Changes to the service
We may improve the program, materials or class topics without notice. If we make a major change that affects you, such as changing your group's time slot, the class frequency or the teacher, we will email you at least 14 days in advance. If you don't accept the change, you can cancel and we will refund the unused portion of the time you've already paid for.
9.Class recordings
- Classes are recorded so students in the same group can review them. Recordings are shared only in your group's private space in Google Classroom.
- We don't publish recordings or use them for marketing without your written permission.
- If you prefer not to appear on video, you can keep your camera off. Speaking is a core part of the class.
- By joining a class you agree to it being recorded for these purposes.
10.Code of conduct
We want every class to be a safe space to make mistakes and learn. So we ask you to:
- Treat the teacher and other students with respect.
- Not share Google Meet links or Classroom access with anyone else. The membership is personal.
- Not record, photograph or share classes or other participants on your own.
If someone seriously or repeatedly breaches these rules, we may cancel their membership. In that case we will refund the unused portion of the time they've paid for.
Sharing class content: publishing, sharing, selling or distributing by any means (social media, messaging groups, websites or otherwise) recordings, screenshots, materials or content from the classes, or images or voices of other participants, without Eng Community's written permission is prohibited. If this happens, we will cancel the membership immediately, without a refund, and take the legal action available to us under the laws of Queensland and Australia, including intellectual property and privacy laws.
11.Materials and intellectual property
Class materials, recordings, texts and the Eng Community design belong to us or are used with permission. You may use them for your personal learning, but not copy, sell or share them publicly.
12.Privacy and personal data
- What we collect: your name, email, phone number (if you give it to us), the group you chose and your payment status. Your card details are handled by Stripe; we don't have access to them.
- How we use it: to give you access to classes, manage your membership, send you notices about your classes and payments and, if you agree, Eng Community news.
- Who we share it with: only the tools we need to provide the service (Stripe for payments and Google Workspace for classes and materials) and your teacher. We never sell your data.
- Your rights: you can ask us for a copy of your data, correct it or ask us to delete it by emailing hello@engcommunity.net. We keep payment records for as long as Australian tax law requires.
13.Contact, complaints and governing law
For any questions or complaints, email us at hello@engcommunity.net or message us on Instagram at @eng.community. We reply within 3 business days and will look for a fair solution before any other step.
These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. We may update them. If a change is significant, we will email you before it takes effect. The current version will always be on this page, with its last-updated date.
If there is any difference between the Spanish and English versions, the English version prevails.
